good bye

January 4th, 2012 at 9:20 pm

After a lot of serious thought about my ambitions, values, and future, I have decided to take a different direction with my creative goals.  I am therefore sad to say that I will no longer be continuing Ornari.  I have loved creating these posts, and have found so many great vendors, designers, products, and other blogs through my searches for material.  I am, however, excited about other avenues that I will be taking and will return with an update here soon.

Anyway, good bye, and thank you for reading, for whoever followed this blog.  Have a great, fulfilling 2012.

honey of a thousand flowers

November 17th, 2011 at 12:00 am

I recently found Sarah Winward’s floral studio, Honey of a Thousand Flowers, through Kinfolk Magazine.   She does some amazing work.  I had a hard time deciding which pieces of hers to feature, because everything she has done really is so cool and unique, but I thought I’d highlight the florals she did for this winter wedding.  More photos are here.  I love the organic feel of it, with the pinecones and natural pieces.  The beautiful photography is by Kate Osborne.

October 31st, 2011 at 12:00 am

halloween bags

October 29th, 2011 at 8:44 pm

It is kind of hard to make trick or treating candy look good, since keeping candy in the wrapper is the only option, so I thought I’d make these Halloween bags to make the candy a little more special.

It took me only 5 or 10 minutes total.  I just stamped some small muslin bags using a rubber stamp and black ink pad and put the candy in.  And everything was inexpensive.

I came across KraeO’s scarves on Etsy the other day.  I really like the colors and the texture, and since fall is officially here, and winter is not that far away, I thought I’d post some of them here.
